Reading Intent
To provide an introduction to three popular approaches/ methodologies for data quality improvement. The idea is to provide our members an opportunity to learn, discuss and benefit from some of the various perspectives available.
Reading Group Questions
The following questions are designed to stimulate and enhance our understanding and analysis of the materials we are reading. Though we will use some of them during our discussions, their only function is to provide a useful and common starting point. They are not meant to limit our discussions.
- What part of each article stood out for you?
- What are the six processes of English's TIQM methodology?
- What are the ten components of Redman's Second Generation Data Quality Systems Framework?
- What are the four steps of Wang's TDQM methodology?
- What is the common foundation or inspiration for the three approaches? Why do you think that is the case?
- What are your initial responses to the three approaches?
- Which parts of each approach strike you as easiest to implement?
- Which strike you as difficult to implement?
- How do Redman's Supplier Management and Information Chain Management concepts relate to Wang's IP Manager role and Information Manufacturing concept?
