About the Author
Kash Mehdi Kash Mehdi has an intuitive personality with 7+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, analytics and research. He is recognized as a team player with extensive knowledge in result oriented technologies. He has proven success in research, design and implementation of data management solutions. Kash is a Sr. Product Specialist and university instructor at Collibra involved in research, development and delivery of enterprise data governance solutions.
His career started as a data quality analyst at a telecom company where he lead an effort to improvise business operations. Soon after, he worked for a healthcare provider as a credentialing executive responsible for researching and designing databases to capture electronic health records. After getting exposed to two different markets, Kash joined Earthlink ISP as a retention specialist where he developed business processes, worked on order to cash datasets and contributed his findings to improvising corporations overall revenue rate. He has received several awards for this research contributions and outstanding performance.
Kash, in his previous job, worked as a researcher at a cancer institute under the CTSA grant. He designed and implemented an ontology driven data quality framework to collect clinical trial data to support cancer research and integration with I2B2. His work was predominantly related to future scientific research in the bio-banking field. He developed a java based data collection portal using graph database technology to support medical researchers in effectively managing bio-specimen data with corresponding ontologies.
Academically, Kash has an extensive masters degree in Information Quality from UALR in collaboration with MIT and a bachelors in computer science. His work has been published in journals like ICIQ, SE Regional IDeA, ITNG and Collibra University. He also appeared as a guest speaker at MIT, DMC Latin America in Brazil, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, IAIDQ, UALR and many more, such as international data management conferences interacting with larger audiences including industry leaders and data practitioners.
About the Author
Robin Rappaport is the Data Quality Team Leader responsible for delivery of the Data Quality Initiative for Research Databases at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Her work and that of her team contributed to the IRS being awarded a Computerworld Honor and a Government Computer News (GCN) Gala Award. She has over 25 years of experience as a Data Quality practitioner. Her undergraduate degree was in Economics with Computer Science. Her graduate work was in Operations Research with a concentration in Mathematical Modeling in Information Systems. She has worked in both private (6 years) and public sectors (since June 1990). Her positions include Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, and Operations Research Analyst.
In addition to IQ International, the International Association for Information & Data Quality, she is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). She was Chairman, Individual Membership for the Washington, D.C. chapter from 1987- 1990. She was elected Secretary and served from 1990 - 1991.
