A review of the tools and processes for managing identity information that should be in place in the organization in support of master data management (MDM). Special attention is given to the strategy of creating an identity service in the model of software-as-a-service (SaaS) to solve the data quality problems caused when different records across the enterprise are not recognized as representing the same entity, e.g. same patient assigned different patient numbers.
