Professional Certification in Information Quality — Taking the Next Steps: how to complete the application form

Abstract:

The IQCP is a professional certification credential based on proven work experience in the Data and Information quality field and passing a rigorous 3 hours closed book exam. Christian will discuss how candidates can validate if they fulfill the IQCP eligibility criteria for the application. He will demonstrate with real life examples on how to use and fill out the IQCP application form. Participants will be able to get their questions answered during this interactive session. This webinar is for anybody who wants to pursue the IQCPSM certification and wants to learn more about the application process and to take the next steps.

About the Author

Christian Walenta
Christian Walenta IQCP served as the President on the Board of Directors of the International Association for Information and Data Quality (IAIDQ) from 2008 to 2013 and is currently Advisor and Past President. He has held a variety of professional and management positions with IBM in Germany, UK and the USA prior to his current position with Lenovo. His professional experience of more than 20 years includes information management, data governance, management of supply chain systems, business development and project management. Christian is a recognized leader in Information Management (IM) at Lenovo and currently works in Lenovo's Product Information organization. Prior to it, he led IBM's Information Management Office, responsible for providing information management strategy, IM programs and Data Governance enterprise wide. He implemented Information Quality programs for IBM's Supply Chain and has extensive practical experience in all aspects of Information Management, including setting overall IM strategies, implementing data stewardship and governance programs for complex organizations and driving Information Management as continuous culture change.

Christian achieved varies professional certifications, including the IAIDQ Information Quality Certified Professional (IQCP), the PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), and the IBM Executive Project Manager. He holds a Master degree in Computer Science and Business Administration, as well as an MBA in International and Strategic Management.

Robin Rappaport's photo

Robin Rappaport is the Data Quality Team Leader responsible for delivery of the Data Quality Initiative for Research Databases at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Her work and that of her team contributed to the IRS being awarded a Computerworld Honor and a Government Computer News (GCN) Gala Award. She has over 25 years of experience as a Data Quality practitioner. Her undergraduate degree was in Economics with Computer Science. Her graduate work was in Operations Research with a concentration in Mathematical Modeling in Information Systems. She has worked in both private (6 years) and public sectors (since June 1990). Her positions include Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, and Operations Research Analyst.

In addition to IQ International, the International Association for Information & Data Quality, she is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). She was Chairman, Individual Membership for the Washington, D.C. chapter from 1987- 1990. She was elected Secretary and served from 1990 - 1991.

Dr Tony O'Brien, is a Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Business School as Sheffield Hallam University focussing upon Finance, Accounting and Business Systems. He previously worked for over forty years as an accountant engaged in business finance, general management, IT and the management and implementation of Information Systems. He has worked for a number of large organisations including Shell, British Gypsum, British Oxygen, Great Universal Stores and Remploy. He is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Nottingham Business School and an MBA from Leeds Business School.
