The Body has a Head: Roles and Responsibilities of the Data Council
I closed my last column with the assertion that “in time, organizations will recognize data as assets on par with other assets such as people and money. And Chief Data Officers will be named.”
I promised to discuss the roles and responsibilities of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) in this column. But as I labored away on this article, I realized that the most important job of the CDO was serving as secretary to the Data Council, and readers may not know what a Data Council is. So before delivering on my promise (which I will in the next issue), I must explain the roles and responsibilities of the Data Council.
