Grant Robinson has recently retired following a 42 year career as a natural resource scientist with the New South Wales State Government in Australia. His experience analysing and managing natural resources information, particularly forestry and water resource data began in 1981. In 2008 he was appointed to a new role as Information Quality Coordinator for the state agency's water monitoring unit facilitating a continuous improvement program, focussing on measurement, data gathering and management of water resource data, underpinned by ISO9001 certification.

In the last part of his career, he worked on a collaborative project with the Australian Federal Government and Queensland State Government, developing water monitoring guidelines to define consistent water monitoring practices to underpin information quality in the national water database.

In retirement Grant works as Chief Executive Officer for IAIDQ, as Secretary for the Australian Hydrographers Association, as a project officer for Christian charity Langham Partnership, and with his local church.
