Category 5: Attending Association Membership Meetings

Category Description:

Credit is given for attending at least one (1) IQ-related professional or academic association membership meeting in a quarter during your Recertification Period. Membership meetings can be monthly, quarterly, annual, conference, special, or other general; however no additional credit is given for attending more than one meeting in a single quarter for a single association. Credit is given for attending meetings from multiple associations in a single quarter.

Quarters run: Q1 – January through March; Q2 – April through June; Q3 – July through September; and, Q4 – October – December for any given year.

  • Attending at least one IAIDQ-sponsored membership meeting during a quarter earns 1 RC per quarter. (No additional credit is given for attending more than one meeting in a single quarter.)
  • Attending at least one another IQ-related association membership meeting during a quarter earns 0.50 RC per quarter. (No additional credit is given for attending more than one meeting in a single quarter for a single association.)

RC Example:

  • Attending at least one association membership meeting every quarter for IAIDQ (12 RCs) and at least one meeting every quarter for another association (6 RC) each year during your Recertification Period earns you a total of 18 RCs.

Proof of Focus:

  • Proof of meeting focus requires a copy of one of the following: Meeting Announcement from Website, or Meeting Flyer. (Must show meeting to be professional or academic, not social or cultural.)

Proof of Attendance:

  • Proof of having attended an accepted association membership meeting requires a copy of one of the following: Payment/Registration Confirmation, or letter/email from association. (Must show society name, attendee name, and date(s) attended.)

Credit Notes:

  • Credit for maintaining professional or academic association membership is given under Category 4.
  • Credit for serving a professional or academic association in an elected or volunteer position is given under Category 10.
